After more than ten years of contract-work for the industry; medium-sized businesses and scientific institutes, I felt a strong desire to produce my own narrative movie with a story, that I thought was worth telling. I wanted to give this film the time and resources it needed. No deadlines, no small budgets, just me, the software-tools and the idea, gaining its own inner life, taking what it needed to mature. Sounds as if I don´t like visualisation-jobs? I hope not, because I do. I love movies.
ONE
an animated movie

While producing a standard animated movie for
2 000 Euro per minute of delivered film, a minute of EINS, done as a contract would cost about 8 300 Euro. That´s four times more than I am normally allowed to put in. But then I get a movie satisfying my own ambitions. Time-pressure is something else: a contract needs about three months before delivery. ONE took me about two years, because I wanted to make it as slowly as needed. It would have had production costs of about 30 000 Euro.
